Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently asked questions about the Journey and the journey with Silvia de Groot Ruiz.
Journey therapy can literally be used for anything one is prepared to face. Physical examples are: all diseases, pain, asthma, allergy, MS, ME, cancer. On an emotional level: learning problems, insecurity, addiction (to food, gambling, drugs, alcohol), anger, fear, dyslexia, jealousy, phobias, ADHD. On a spiritual level: living in wholeness, freedom, freedom from ego, creativity. The Journey process is supportive of death counselling and mourning. The Journey is applied in coma patients and there are Journey therapists specializing in working with animals.
Not always someone heals 100%. It is up to life itself to determine whether there is a reason to remain ill or whether it is, for example, 'someone's time' to die. In a Journey process, however, the person gets an insight into why this is so. Someone who is going to die has the opportunity to deal with unfinished business in a process - even with people who may no longer be alive - to be able to go in peace. The Journey doesn't work when someone doesn't want to heal. Sometimes being sick brings something. In such a case I help the client to see through that pattern and I let him/her experience what it is like to be healthy. The client can then make a conscious choice. A second process can provide insight into the resistance to take care of things, so that a person can make an 'adult' decision.
By undergoing Journey processes, people liberate themselves from their disorder and that which caused it. People come to understand why events took place, get rid of the patterns they have developed for self-protection. and arrive at a healthy relationship with themselves and their environment. People come into essential contact with their true selves - under all layers of the ego, the mask we live in. One experiences its vast potential in such a way that it cannot be let go. A feeling that people sometimes only experience after years of meditation, and is also described with immeasurable intelligence, the Source, God, coming home to himself, limitless freedom. A less pleasant side effect is the detoxification that can take place after the process. The healing process continues and the old cells and sometimes memories linked to them leave the body. Sometimes one dreams vehemently, or these old memories come to mind. Sometimes you don't smell so fresh for a while. It's all temporary and goes away by itself.
One session may be enough. But why should you get rid of one limiting factor in your life now while you have found a method that is short and powerful and handles a lot more? Some complaints need more processes because they are more complex. For example, sexual abuse can cause emotions such as shame, lack of self-esteem, of powerlessness and betrayal as cellular memory. If lack of self-esteem is your entrance to a session, that aspect of sexual abuse will resolve. However, the other emotions can still determine your behaviour and thus your life. For example, anger may also surface about the fact that this has steered your life, anger you weren't aware of before. Maybe there are physical complaints as well. My experience is that every process works in unexpected ways and that after a few weeks or months you realize that you have 'won' in different areas. Some old patterns were so interwoven that the lack of them subtly affects all aspects of life. In the example above, for example, after the process about lack of self-esteem, you may notice that in your work you accept a promotion of which you were previously would never have believed you'd be "good enough" for that job. And in an entirely different field - for example sexuality (much closer to the original subject) - you might take a lot more initiative or deepen your relationship. In the case of a life-threatening illness, I would certainly advise you to do more litigation. For example once or twice a week a Designer Journey and every day a Physical Journey. (you could do this yourself at home with MP3's).
It is recommended to keep the rest of the day free. A Journey process is a powerful method and you can start to feel emotional or physical detoxification taking place. So take care of yourself and let the healing occur naturally at the body's own pace. I will contact you afterwards to inquire how you are doing. If you have any questions you can always contact me earlier.
