Silvia de Groot Ruiz

born in Mexico City in 1947.

When I was 18 I started studying English language and literature and I got my bachelor's degree in 1968. In 1980 I started my master's degree in psychology, which I obtained in 1983.

In 1986 I went to the United States with a Fulbright scholarship, where I met my future Dutch husband. We got married and moved to the Netherlands in 1987. In Mexico and in the Netherlands I followed various courses and trainings in various psychological therapies, including psychoanalytic therapy (with Jorge Derbez, a pupil of the well-known psychoanalyst Erich Fromm), system therapy, and meditation therapy. I have also studied meditation and Yoga. Among other things I have done Raja Yoga for ten years. In 2004 I completed the Primordial Sound Meditation course of Deepak Chopra.

Eventually I came into contact with the Journey Therapy and I was so excited that I completed the training to become a journey therapist. ('Journey Practitioner'). I completed this training in 2006. The past 13 years I have given more than 300 Journey sessions. I give Journeys to adults, children, street children (in Mexico) and care professionals.
